Look around. Now, tell me: what color is the nearest wall? Your clothes? The sky? (Well, if it’s Monday morning, I assume gray, just like your mood).
Colors are everywhere, dominating our emotions with Machiavellian subtlety. We wake up to the radiant yellow of the sun (or the artificial light trying to deceive us), dress in black to look interesting and mysterious (or to hide spilled coffee), and surround ourselves with warm or cool tones depending on what we want to feel or project. But have you ever wondered why it works this way?
Colors & Emotions
Red puts you on alert. That’s why sales signs, traffic lights, and the most iconic lips in history (hello, Marilyn) come in this shade. It speeds up our heart rate and makes us act.
Blue, on the other hand, calms us. No wonder social media is drenched in it: they want you to spend hours in their world feeling “relaxed” while they absorb your soul (and personal data).
Yellow is optimistic, energetic, almost naive. And also the color of warning: “watch out, danger.” A contradictory color, like us when we say “I don’t care” but actually care about EVERYTHING.
Green… oh, green. Nature, hope, and that fleeting dream of leaving everything behind to grow tomatoes on a self-sustaining farm. (Lasts three minutes until you remember bugs exist and WiFi is a basic necessity).

Fashion is a game of perceptions. Some days, dressing in black is almost a war cry: “Don’t talk to me, I’m in emotional ninja mode.” Other days, a soft pink makes us feel like walking cotton candy. And then there are earth tones, perfect for when you want to project “I have my life together” even though you keep forgetting to water that plant you’ve been trying to save for months.
If you want focus: surround yourself with blue or green. If you need creativity: go for orange and yellow tones (or just drink coffee, which is also an inspiring color). If you seek peace of mind, neutral colors will help… though sometimes they’ll also make you feel like you live in a minimalist design clinic.
If colors affect us so much, why not use them strategically? Choose shades that make you feel good, highlight who you are, and remind you that every day you can choose what to project (or at least fake it better). And if all else fails, you can always say gray is “elegant” and beige is “sophisticated.” No one has to know the truth.
PS: In our store, we have colors for every mood. Stop by, pick one, and let the world know exactly (or not) how you feel today.
